Today the sun didn’t rise
Today the
sun didn’t rise
Today my
eyes burned from acrid sulphur smoke
Today milk
turned sour in my mouth
Today a Kodo
drummer pounded right on my ears
Today
everyone spoke gibberish
Today no
matter how fast I go, I never get there
Today the
toilet ran over onto my feet
Today I
crazy itched where I could not scratch
Today is a
day in hell
But not
really
Because I
can still feel
Today I am
alive.
There is
still hope.

Jan Bosman sent me a poem the style of which she was enamoured with. The theme was "Today.". Several of us decided to write a similar poem in that style and then compare them. This was my effort- JPW
